How are my monotypes created?
Each image is individually painted onto a smooth non-porous surface. The image is then transferred to paper on an etching press. Additional work may follow with more paint, pastels and metallic highlights. When complete, each piece is signed and numbered with the monotype indication- "1 /1". A series of pieces are created within a particular visual theme. Due to the spontaneous creation of the monotypes each image in the series will differ but remain true to the mood and movement of the series and the spirit of the image.
